Dr. Shelaina Anderson – SPORTS MEDICINE
Dr Shelaina Anderson is a primary care physician with special training in sport medicine and a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of British Columbia.
She completed her fellowship in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of British Columbia where she obtained additional training in ultrasound-guided procedures for musculoskeletal conditions.
Shelaina sees patients of all ages and athletic backgrounds. With an extensive performing arts and athletic background, her specialty interests include dance medicine, figure skating, gymnastics, and the female athlete.
She has provided medical coverage at a variety of events including Skate Canada International, Ironman Whistler, World Triathlon, UBC varsity hockey and football, and for the Arts Umbrella Professional Training Program. Procedural interventions offered for musculoskeletal care include platelet-rich plasma, corticosteroid, viscosupplementation, and prolotherapy injections, trigger point injections, as well as barbotage.
